NEW FOCUS FOR SPROTT-SHAW COURTENAY CAMPUS

Exciting changes are underway at Sprott-Shaw Community College in Courtenay. Under the leadership of recently appointed Associate Director Scott Crawford, health and homecare training will now be the primary focus at the campus. Crawford also plans to enhance the quality and value of Sprott-Shaw programs by reaching out and working more directly with individuals and local groups in the community.

Scott, since originally joining Sprott-Shaw in 2004 as an instructor, has built relationships by engaging in charities and fundraising opportunities that help this community while showcasing what the campus and graduates have to offer.  His unwavering attention to student success has been greatly appreciated and is recognized by the number of successfully employed students and past graduates.  Scott’s investment of time and attention for Sprott-Shaw students has now been carried into his position as Associate Director, ensuring that new students and staff are part of an environment that fosters success.

“Through greater involvement with other Comox Valley businesses and groups, Sprott-Shaw staff and students can really get to know community needs, especially those relating to health and homecare” says Crawford.  He adds, “As BC’s largest healthcare trainer, I believe Sprott-Shaw Community College is in a good position to encourage ways to improve the overall health of our community members.  For me and my team at the Courtenay campus, this is another way to work with people striving to build a better future.”

Since 1903, Sprott-Shaw Community College has been providing students at more than 22 campuses with top quality instruction in a positive and safe environment.
