West Coast Air Expanding Service
Downtown Vancouver to
Comox Harbour
"The Comox Valley has been an area we’ve had our eye on for some time. It’s a thriving business community with diverse industry and significant development opportunities - it’s clear that travel time needs to be minimized. We’re excited about this new route and linking the two communities,” said Rick Baxter, President and CEO of West Coast Air.
British Columbia owned and operated West Coast Air is expanding their services with a daily scheduled flight to the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, effective April 1st, 2008.
The 45 minute flight will depart from the downtown terminal just west of Canada Place and will touch down at Comox Bay Resort and Marina, located in the stunning harbour of the Town of Comox.
The Comox Valley set it sights on attracting float plane service in 2003 when Comox Bay Marina, with the support of the Town and a local Comox Valley Seaplane Committee, developed the infrastructure to support float plane service.
“Transportation links are critical to the economic well being of a community,” said Mayor Jim Brass, Town of Comox, “West Coast Air will allow residents, visitors and business travelers to access all the opportunities the Comox Valley has to offer. This is significant news for the whole north central Island.”
