North Island College Foundation Awards $83,000
The North Island College Foundation recently presented $83,000 to 126 students at its annual Awards Ceremony, held at the Florence Filberg Centre in Courtenay on May 26th. Over 300 people attended the ceremony which saw recipients receive awards from the Canadian Daughters Assembly #6, Canadian Tire, North Island College Faculty Association, Royston-Cumberland Lions, Soroptimist International Cub of Courtenay, Scotiabank, and the Federation of Canadian Artists, just to name a few of the award donors.

Snow Or No Snow, Summer Starts June 20th!
In April, Mount Washington finished its third straight winter eclipsing the 12 metre snow-depth mark. And as of mid-June, deep pockets of snow linger in the high alpine surrounding the resort. With below normal temperatures and snowfall last week, the resort was beginning to wonder if summer would actually show up!
