Community Futures Strathcona

Founded in 1988, Community Futures Strathcona has approved more than 600 business loans, injected $19 million into the local economy; provided business consultation and training to over 2000 clients; and helped to create and maintain over 2500 full-time and part-time jobs.

How did we do it? Through actively supporting the development and growth of new and existing businesses in the Strathcona region on Vancouver Island by:

• Offering information, training, mentoring and consultancy services;

• Lending money to new and existing businesses where we see real growth potential;

• Encouraging people to become self-employed entrepreneurs; and

• Supporting community led economic development projects.
